I was expecting a nice bit of.detail about the terrible fires of 1918. I was also expecting a $5 family admission as advertised on Explore Minnesota Web page ( May through October 2015).
Reality was that 90% was like a county museum with a slight focus on railway related artifacts. There was one small corner of another room where all of the fire information resided. The Hinckley fire museum is much better and is worth seeing. Also, apparently rates increased as there was no family rate- only a $3 per person rate so my family of four cost $12 rather than the advertised $5. I showed the Web page to the attendant but he didn't know what to do.
For me personally, it was not worth the trip to the museum, if learning about the 1918 fire was a priority.
Wonderful place to visit for history buffs. Nice staff, great old Depot building.
